Hi my name is Ann Kavanagh - Macushla Designs.

I am inspired by the idea of colour and different types of materials. I love the idea of recycling old garments and creating something new fun and creative from them.

Puppets have always fascinated me. As a four year old, I performed with a set Santa brought me, the endless possibilities and hours of fun they provided created memories that have stayed with me throughout my life. As an adult, the idea of creating a personality, a character, is fun and the sky is the limit really. In making these puppets, I incorporated elements of soft sculpture design with traditional puppet making skills to create an ‘Art Puppet’. Their personalities grew with the hours of work that went into them as did my patience and skill set along the way!

Craft through recycling is a new adventure for me. It began just under a year ago and I have loved every minute of it. Has it been easy? Honestly, no. But I can truthfully say that the revival and sharing of skills, the sense of community, and the opportunity to put live back into something, to make it beautiful again, has made every minute worthwhile.

I love crafting and re-using used items, I also like making things from scratch, each piece being different and unique. Hope everyone likes and enjoy what I have made.

Hi my name is Una - Smart Pooch.

My daughter has a lovely Yorkshire terrier that I like to make coats for, which is where all this started.

I use all recycled materials as I am really a big fan of making use of everything. Usually I shop in the local charity shops and pick up really nice pieces. I have used materials from denim jeans to many of my own and my son’s clothes.

While walking the dog one day it started to pour rain, and the poor dog got soaked, which is where my idea for dog coats fashioned from discarded umbrellas began.

I have always loved crafting. I got most of my skills from my Grandmother, who was always making or embroidering something. I love making things, especially when I can recycle something that’s probably going into the bin, by giving it a new life. I love knitting, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, card making. I hope you enjoy my items as much as I enjoyed making them.

My name is Patricia Flanagan - Jits ~ Bits & Bears.

I like, or should I say I love crafting.  I’ve always crafted.  I’ve always looked at “stuff” that others might throw out and see potential in it.  It sort of gives me a buzz.  So I would say I am an avid recycler. Using recycled clothes, material, beading and buttons I made some christmas decorations and teddy bears.  Each item is handmade with care and no two pieces are the same. I hope everybody enjoys my pieces as much as I enjoyed making them.

I have enjoyed craft making and dress making for many years. I have really enjoyed taking this a step further, and working with recycled materials. I decided to make polar bears, as I have always liked them, and really hope you like them too, and give them a nice warm home for Christmas.

Hi, I’m Rachael Shearwood - Artist.

I do printmaking and I wanted to find a way of combining my art with craft, then I discovered machine embroidery.  Stitching into certain printmaking papers works really well. The beautifully coloured threads are a really good medium to work with and I am happy with the results in my art work.
